System Implementation

BMS is a trustworthy and reliable company that has been providing exceptional POS solutions for a long time. They offer a wide range of computer systems and software that are designed to meet the unique needs of businesses of all sizes. What sets BMS apart from its competitors is its commitment to providing seamless implementation processes. This is achieved through three phases: initial planning and training, system installation, and on-site training and Go-Live.

During the initial planning and training phase, BMS works closely with its clients to understand their specific needs and requirements. This allows them to tailor their solutions to meet the specific needs of each client. Once the planning phase is complete, BMS moves on to the system installation phase. This is where their team of experts installs the POS system and all the necessary software on-site.

Finally, BMS provides on-site training and Go-Live support to ensure that their clients can use the new system effectively. This ensures that businesses can smoothly transition to the new system without any hiccups. With BMS, businesses can rest assured that they are in good hands and that their POS needs will be taken care of as efficiently and effectively as possible.

Physical Inventory

BMS can provide several hand-held computers for electronically counting the stock in a store. In addition, a BMS employee will be present to help manage the count process.

The BMS employee will be available for 8 hours per day. Any size store can be counted at this time, provided enough people are present to conduct the count. At a minimum, there must be 12 people, one for each hand-held and some assistants. For larger stores, more hand-held units can be provided.

Training

Someone inside your company with a basic understanding of computers or a local acquaintance can often install the equipment. Alternatively, BMS can schedule personnel to travel to your store and set up the equipment for you, which can be included in your purchase price excluding travel expenses. Your customer advisor and you will select a date for the installation service technician and training advisor to arrive.

Upon arrival, the technician will un-box the equipment and place it where you desire for BMS training, if necessary. You and your customer advisor will determine the desired locations for the system equipment to be installed. The technician will configure all terminals, workstations, printers, and miscellaneous hardware peripherals according to your system preferences.

Next, the BMS technician will personalize them according to staff tasks. During this process, data conversion will be available to obtain static data from your current system and convert it to the proper usable BMS format, including customer information, basic vendor information, inventory item information, and departments. Additionally, you can order and enter any catalog loads for vendors you request. Any remaining time from the installation schedule can be used to help you train.

Initial training is provided for the system set-up overview and setting of the business logic into the configuration settings. This training is done over the Internet or in person if the customer chooses that option and cost. BMS has several videos available that walk the user through the various functions of Wave by BMS.

Classroom training is available especially when the chaotic work environment would make learning impossible in the store. Often a study room at the local library can be used at no charge or at a place the store personnel chooses. Classroom training is always preferable but not always practical.

The process can be conducted in the store prior to going live by taking turns overviewing what each person will be doing, using the data that has been loaded or converted from an existing system. Finally, the training data is cleared, the balances are loaded, the store goes live on Wave by BMS, and the real lessons begin. A BMS employee will be on-site and shoulder-to-shoulder with the store personnel until they are comfortable on their own.

Then the BMS trainer can move to other stations and provide information on back-office functions. Please schedule enough time for the trainer to cover every aspect of each employee’s role in the system operation. When our trainer leaves, everyone should have a fundamental knowledge of their role so that supplemental training can fine-tune that knowledge.

Additional On-site training days can be purchased.

Supplemental telephone training is available for an added fee.

Catalog Loads

With Wave by BMS, you can forget about having to load every inventory item into your system, which is an extremely tedious and frustrating task. BMS offers catalog loads to avoid this (1 catalog load comes free of charge with every new system).

Some vendors provide between 45,000 and 70,000 items in their catalog. Understandably you won’t have every item stocked on your shelf; however, it could be in your system. If that special customer comes along requesting a unique item or PO your system will still be able to order and manage it.

Distributor Relationships

At BMS, we aim to provide you with the best solution for your business’s inventory management, point of sale, and ordering needs. That’s why we offer a complete range of distributor communications that enhance your distributor relationships. To see the communication packages we offer, click on your distributor. These vendors typically communicate in five ways:

– You can send purchase orders directly to your vendor instead of mailing or faxing a printed copy.

– Our client can also download a copy of an invoice and place it into your BMS system as if you created it using your BMS system. Then, you’ll receive the purchase order.

– You can download a file from your vendor communications service that contains new items you don’t have on file already and updated price and cost information for items you already carry.

– Our client additionally can download files to update prices for items that are ALREADY ON FILE and change their cost and retail price.

– You can download circulars or promotion files that contain promotions or sale prices for certain items, their sale prices, and the starting and ending dates of the sale.

If you don’t see a distributor on the list that you’d like to see, let us know, and we’ll work with you to add them to your vendor communication service.
